Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation launched a course for developing work and coordinating security tasks in ports in accordance with the Law of the Sea, with the participation of the security authorities operating in the port of Mukalla during the period from Sunday 28 April to Thursday 2 May 2024, in which a doctoral researcher in the specialty of ports will lecture Mr. Nabil Abdullah bin Eifan, Deputy Director General of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs in Mukalla.
Engineer Salem Ali Basamer Chairman of board of directors of YASPC, spoke in a brief speech in which he stressed the importance of training and qualification programs in developing work and coordinating tasks in ports, adding that this course is an extension of the previous course held by the Corporation regarding international maritime legislation regulating the work of ports, which was Successful, according to its participants.
Engineer Basamer added that the Corporation pays great attention to all security agencies operating in the port of Mukalla and is concerned that all tasks are organized according to international and national maritime legislation, leading to effective coordination and cooperation between the authorities and the Ports Corporation.
Twenty-two participants from the dock management of the Yemeni Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, the Coast Guard forces on the Hadhramaut coast, and the Immigration, Passports and Political Security Office in the port of Mukalla are participating in the course.
