YASPC  imposes preventive measures to protect the employees and workers of Mukalla Port

 meeting was held in the office of Eng. Salem Ali Basamer Chairman of the Board of Directors of YASPC, in the presence of his deputy, Mr. Fwad Alrbak and a number of the directors of the departments of the Corporation, Dr. Omar Bakarshom, Director of the Health Office in the port and the Coast Guard and the Union of port  workers and security destinations in the port, discussed tightening Preventive measures for workers in the port in the civil and military sectors, and conducting a thermal examination before entering the port where the examination is carried out at the port entrance daily and obliging the operators and representatives of navigation agencies to wear face masks before entering the port gate.

This intensified measure comes after the spread of viral fevers and Corona virus (Covid 19) in Mukalla city in an attempt to secure a safe working environment while workers are present at the Mukalla port.

Engineer Basamer stressed the cooperation between the port authorities working in implementing the measures taken in organizing the compliance process and their commitment to it and spreading health awareness among them both at work and outside it.

It is rooted that the institution's leadership imposed preventive measures two months ago, as follows:

1- The application of quarantine of wooden ships and ships in the waiting area outside the port for a period of 14 days, which is calculated from the departure of the last port until its arrival opposite the Mukalla port.

2- Examination by the medical team of the steamship and wooden ships after 14 days before docking in the port.

3- Sterilize the surfaces of the ships, especially the places of contact.

4- Preventing the crews of ships and wooden ships from permanently leaving the quay.

5- Reducing friction between ship crews, ships and workers during work.

6- Providing protective masks and tools for the port loading and unloading workers.

7- Obliging the representatives of the shipping agents and dealers to wear personal masks before entering the port gate.
