Minister of Transport Saleh Ahmed Al-Jubwani visited the sites and new areas allocated for the establishment of the ports of Barum and Dhabah in Hadramout governorate . and listened with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Maritime Affairs and Ports Capt. Ali Al-Subhi and the Executive Chairman of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs Eng. Mohammed bin Aifan, from Eng.Salem Basamer to the advantages of both ports and technical studies conducted in the past and the stages of construction of the two projects.
Al-jabwani invited private sector to invest for construction of one of the ports so that the places and future ports have special characteristics through which it will contribute to the development process in Hadramout and the neighboring governorates to be a pivotal port and keep pace with the growth of economic activity and investment and increase commercial movement.
And Assure that Ministry support to efforts of the Corporation and the local authority in governorate in order to benefit from these projects and to achieve and meet the aspirations of the private sector in Hadramout and serve the public good. Pointing to the importance of choosing the most suitable sites for the establishment of the two projects and the feasibility study technically and economically with the aim of establishing a modern port in modern ways and with modern technological techniques.
The Minister was accompanied by the Chairman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Capt. Saleh Bin Nahid, Acting Director of the General Authority for the Organization of Land Transport Affairs Ali Haidra Mahrouq, Director of the Alwadiaa Land port Office, Mr. Mutlaq Al-Saeiri, Director of Office of Transport Minister Hassan Al-Attas.
